 Writing the city, and more...
(April 2005)  It is with great pleasure to announce to all that my first baby is now born! In collaboration with eight friends, the nine of us have published a book revolving around the notion of "the
city," which we think is far more than merely a geographical location. The book, titled
Sabayoning the City, is our modest attempt in writing the city. Please take a look at the

Updates about me. You may know that I had been transferred from my film censorship job to
a post in the Department of Justice, where I decided to resign from the government. After that I worked as a freelancer, amongst other
jobs, for the
Hong Kong Dance Company
on translating their publicity materials, and for Career Times as a freelance journalist - you can see my report on
"Credit card innovations to capture premium
market" from their website.
In
fact I picked up writing again soon after tendering my resignation. Though
with some difficulties in articulating my ideas in mind, as you will see from the unnatural flow of my
latest essay, I still managed to write a piece on the
Golden Dragon Sculpture in
our city, published in issue
4 of
Cultural Flea Market.
My life as a freelancer did not last long, but my new full-time job is still
writing-related. I joined YesAsia.com on 1
March as an English Editor. My duties in this online retailer include writing product descriptions and newsletters on Asian films, music and other entertainment
products which we are selling.
